As the title suggests, the year is ending, and so is my work on the project. I think this will just be a post telling everyone that my work this year is done xD.
Final project presentation tomorrow, about a 20 minute long presentation. Here I thought I will share my slides with you all 
The end is coming, I think it’s time to introduce the people that were in this lab this year. We all worked on different projects, but hey we played the same games during breaks 
Oh my god! it’s the end!
Four years of university, ending in around 12 days time. Where am I going? Graduate School! I’ve applied to a few graduate schools in the US, sufficient to say that any one of them would be an awesome place to be if I am accepted.
Um update on the progress… just so people realize I haven’t disappeared..
So basically, I’ve concluded any work on the project, and I’m just working on writing the report, going smoothly at the moment, and it should be finished in another week or so. There is a lot to document and write about, and I have to make/collect many graphs, screenshots etc.
So I was asked to put up a poster for our major (Computer and Electronic Engineering) for Massey Open Day 2009. To inspire future engineers in our field I guess hehe.
My supervisor (Fakhrul Alam) suggested to me an interesting idea the other day, its about measuring entropy and attempting to detect signals based on it.
I was going to write the 2nd part of my articles post, but guess I got side tracked when I started looking for ways to write equations.
Trying to understand some of the articles on Cyclostationary made me realize that to do any sort of advanced research a lot of time needs to be spent on reading the basics. The courses in bachelor years prepares me well for research in the sense that I know generally what people are talking about, and I know where to look up the information that I do not yet have.
IMHO, there is no point in starting something without knowing what others have already done.
Looking around on google, and some top universities, I’m not very surprised to see places like Berkeley, CMU, Georgia Tech etc with their own dedicated Cognitive Radio labs. Especially Berkeley, they seem to have their own hardware that is capable of sensing 80MHz instantaneously at ~2GHz.
